Thailand 4* PG6581B gas turbine demolition and relocation
Glow Energy Public Company Limited (“Owner”), a member of the GPSC Group who are a Small Power Plant to EGTA and steam supplier to Rayong Industrial Park in Thailand, proposes to sell (used) Co-Generation 4 Units.
Our Client’s Challenge
Developing and maintaining transformation programs in finance, logistics/supply chains, information technology, training and procurement to help foster cost effectiveness and efficiency without the loss of Defense capability. Taking advantage of opportunities to help reduce costs while maintaining operational capability through partnerships with the private sector.
They are consisted of:
- Gas Turbine QTY 4 units (PG6541B upgrade to PG6581B).
- Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) QTY 4 units
After conducting a comprehensive equipment health assessment, EGE won the bidding in July 2023 and began equipment dismantling and refurbishment. After the refurbishment and life extension, the equipment condition has been fundamentally improved, and they are fully capable of continuing to operate for 20 years.
Our Approach And Solution
The $4 million project was successfully completed in two separate phases with both phases coming in on schedule and the overall costs coming in under budget. Emergency repairs to the facility were completed on December 11th, 2014 which allowed for the facility to operate through the critical winter months. Permanent electrical repairs along with less critical site deficiencies were completed in April and May of 2016 when a longer facility shut-down could be tolerated. In order to meet the required schedule, TransGas delegated procurement and construction management services to WSP.
